You can download sample data files from a public Ryft AWS S3 bucket that you can then use to replicate the examples you'll see on this support site.
From the AWS Console, select S3, and then search for ryft-public-sample-data. It's located in the US East (N. Virginia) region:
Click the ryft-public-sample-data bucket name to see the folders and files in the bucket. The bucket contents will change over time.
Download Wikipedia Sample File
The Wikipedia sample file is used in many of our support examples. You can download and install the same file from the Ryft public S3 bucket onto your Ryft instance and run the same examples.
To use the Wikipedia sample file, execute these steps on the AWS command line interface. Create the "regression" sub-directory in "/ryftone" and download the sample data file into the "regression" sub-directory, like this:
$ mkdir /ryftone/regression
$ cd /ryftone/regression
$ wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/ryft-public-sample-data/wikipedia-20150518.bin
Download Sample Database for Testing ODBC
You can download a tar ball of sample databases to use for testing ODBC/JDBC. The tar ball includes these sample databases:
- Chicago Crime
From the "ryft-public-sample-data" folder, click the ODBC folder name to see the list of files.
To download, untar and then use the "SampleDatabases.tar.gz" you must execute these steps from an SSH session. This will get the tar file, untar the file and install three data files:
$ wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/ryft-public-sample-data/ODBC/SampleDatabases.tar.gz
$ tar xvzf SampleDatabases.tar.gz
$ cp -rf ODBC /ryftone
$ ls /ryftone/ODBC/
chicago_Crime Passengers Seuss
You can now connect to the SQL server using the built-in iSQL client, and test ODBC with the sample data files.
